Bahrain’s prime business, finance and retail district – the Bahrain International Exhibition & Convention Centre (BIECC) – opened its doors to the first edition of the Arabian Banking Technology Exhibition and Conference (ABTEC 2014) earlier this morning.

The two-day conference – launched by Abtikar Association and supported by the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) and the Economic Development Board (EDB) – brought together the largest gathering of financial technology professionals. The event with the theme ‘Turning digital disruption into transformational opportunities,’ drew more than 80 international exhibitors from 35 countries and will be attracting an estimated 2,000 visitors over the next two days.

Members from the BRSANALYTICS team were amongst those exhibiting at ABTEC. Occupying Stand B06, Enterprise Group Channel & Business Development Executive, Daniel Buttigieg and Regional Head of Sales & Marketing, Neil Bianco had the opportunity to meet with over 400 delegates hailing from more than 20 countries. They were also accompanied by their local partner for the Middle East.

“ABTEC presented the perfect vehicle through which to highlight the latest features and benefits of BRSANALYTICS,” claims Neil Bianco, adding that the company’s main focus at the present time was to continue to develop a presence in the Middle East.

In another regional first, the organisers introduced the ABTEC DEMO Programme bringing together ten award-winning financial technology providers to present their latest innovations in a series of rapid-fire demos.

During the ABTEC DEMO Programme, Daniel Buttigieg spoke about the solution’s core strengths. Among other things, he explained how BRSANALYTICS provides out-of-the-box reporting packs. This in turn allows key business users to reap immediate benefits from the automated process of report gathering and collation; in the specific format required by the regulator of that particular country.

Daniel also introduced audiences to SPIM – an integral part of the BRSANALYTICS offering that provides a proven technique for adopting a repeatable, tried and tested methodology for the implementation of BRSANALYTICS and designed to protect customers’ investment in the product.

In a recent interview, Ebtikar Association founder and president and ABTEC 2014 chairperson Mr Osama Al Khajah, emphasised the importance of solutions like BRSANALYTICS for banks seeking to remain competitive. “In an increasingly digital world,” he said “financial institutions must move away from legacy systems in order to deliver more value to the customer, while simultaneously meeting regulatory requirements and managing new risks.”
