Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi urged young people to continue studying even after they had completed their undergraduate education during a visit to Computime’s offices in Birkirkara on Monday 14th January.

Dr Gonzi and Parliamentary Secretary Mr Clyde Puli, were greeted by Mr Mario Mizzi, Director for Computime. Mr Mizzi explained how the company had achieved some important milestones in the last year with business booming both locally and internationally. “Computime,” he continued “is expected to grow their staff complement of 85 to 100 employees in the coming year.”

Mr Mizzi thanked Government for its financial support, especially in terms of training, through the ETC’s Training Aid Framework (TAF) and other similar initiatives by Malta Enterprise. “As a company committed to delivering specialised solutions, particularly in the oil and gas and banking sector, we believe investing in our staff’s training is essential to our success,” he said.

Computime owns offices in Malta, Libya and the UK. With the recent upheaval in Libya seemingly over, the Director claimed he was thrilled to announce that negotiations to re-establish business that had previously been put on hold, were taking place again. On behalf of Computime, Mr Mizzi took the opportunity to express his appreciation for government’s help in seeing the safe evacuation of Computime employees during the Libya revolt in the early months of 2012.

Mr Mizzi and the Executive team at Computime invited Dr Lawrence Gonzi on a tour of their offices while thanking him for taking the time to better understand the nature of the work carried out by its employees.
